Kido (木戸) is the ex-captain of the Ryuhoku High's Basketball Team and Yuki Machida refers to him as her "first love" as he was the reason why she signed up as the basketball team's manager in the first place [1], but he already has a girlfriend named Rina Hashino.[2]
In Vol. 2 Ch. 10, he is now a college student as he said that he is "Just heading home from university." after bumping into Shou Naruse.

Kido said that he was the one who confessed to Rina and they already started dating after that.[3]
In Chapter 5, he later revealed that "Yesterday, my girlfriend and I broke up." The reason for their breakup is because Rina explained that "He promised me he would text me good night, like, every night. But he, like, totally forgot." But thanks to Yuki Machida efforts, Rina and Kido have rekindled their relationship.
After Kido enters college in Vol. 2 Ch. 10, he and Rina are not seen with each other due to going to different colleges, but it could be possible that they are in a long-distance relationship. However, in Chapter 20, the two are seen hanging out together in a restaurant.
Etymology[]
- The surname Kido means "wicket, wooden door" (木戸).
